Spring Fever

Spring can't come soon enough!  Especially for those of you in the north east where the temps are near freezing!  But you have something to look forward to...the newest trend - the craze over ankle straps.  I certainly can't get enough...dying to break out my fave Zara basic sandals that I rocked last summer and look forward to rocking again! Here are a few of my favorites for Spring:

Cobalt: Tibi/Yellow: Prabal Gurung x Target/Black: Zara/Pink: Steve Madden

I'm completely obsessed with the Tibi Pair!  I was lucky enough to have my mom snatch up the Prabal Gurung for Target beauties while I'm in Bermy:)  Love the gold heel on the Zara pair.  The Steve Madden's have a very minimalist look which I like...they come in a few fun colors and I definitely have my eye on the black and gold strap pair.  Which are your favorites?

City Girl, Island Life

I'm back!!!!  After a chaotic yet exciting past few months, I've finally settled in paradise aka Bermuda, my new home. My husband and I have relocated and I will be exploring and enjoying island life and sharing my new style experiences with you.

My fast paced, high strung life will now be filled with calm, laid back days...something I'll have to get used to.  Also my close knit family will no longer be over every weekend and my girls nights will be a lot harder to plan than usual. However, this will make the time I spend with them more about quality and not quantity.  However superficial this may sound - the hardest thing to get used to is the fact that the fashion capital of the world will no longer be at my finger tips:(  My walks across town from the east to the west side after work will no longer be spent window shopping on Fifth Avenue and filled with impulse purchases.  I'll be doing a whole lot more online shopping and making trips dedicated to stocking up on new clothes.  So...I will no longer be blogging from the city that never sleeps, but from the beautiful island of Bermuda.  Can't wait to get back to what I love most...blogging, fashion and style!

It's All In The Details

Dress - Zara (here), Clutch - Kate Spade (here), Shoes - Zara old (similar here and here)

Leather cap sleeves and an exposed gold back zipper bring the perfect amount of edginess to this classic little black dress.   I don't wear dresses often.  I'm more of a jeans and heels kinda girl, but every once in a while I come across a dress that I absolutely love and so begins the 'where can I wear this?' saga...lol   This was one of those dresses which I purchased simply because I just had to have it :)  My Kate Spade magazine clutch and my favorite red pumps (love the gold stiletto heel!) added the perfect details for an edgy, sexy, fun, date night outfit.

The Leather LBD

The Row $$$ (here), Malene Birger $$ (here), Karl $ (here)

Love!  Love!  Love this leather dress!  A whole new take on the little black dress - sexier and edgier - love it!  I have been drooling over the first one for quite some time but it's way out of my price range at $3,390...so I decided to do some hunting for a look for less and found the 2nd for $750 and the 3rd for $290.  If you're looking to spice up your little black dress look, go for leather!

Fall into Color

Burgundy, red, oxblood, bordeaux, wine - whatever you want to call it - it's in and it's hot!

Dress (here), Jeans (here), Top (here), Skirt (here)

All of the items above are on my wish list for fall except for the jeans which I've already purchased.  They are a steal at $35.90...so much so that I also got them in green!  I'm loving the style and side zip on the dress - I need this in my life asap!  If you want to knock out 2 'trends' (oxblood and leather) with 1 stone, go for the skirt...it's super chic!  The peplum top is also super cute and can be worn with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans and at only $36 - why not?!?!?

Pumped Up Kicks

via

Love!  Love!  Love this look!  The leather sleeves and the stylish kicks - hot!  I've been debating whether or not to jump on the wedge sneaker bandwagon.  When I first discovered them a few months ago, I kinda had a love/hate relationship with them.  They were the Isabel Marant 'perkins'.  I loved the idea of a hidden wedge in the sneaker but disliked the bulkiness and with a $700 price tag I wasn't too pleased either.  Then I spotted the 'boston' (featured on the left)...which isn't as bulky to me as the others, but the price remains the same...bummer.  Luckily, I found this Zara version (which need to come back in stock asap!)...they resemble the perkins a little in color and height, but are a little sleeker and more my style.  What do you think?  If you're loving this look as much as I am, you can get the look for much less at Zara (shown on the right) with this top and these sneakers and if you're willing to splurge you can get the top and sneaker from the 1st look here and here.

Lost in the Art @FNO

These pants are a STEAL!!!!  Run, don't walk to your nearest H&M!

Top - Zara (here), Pants - H&M (here), Shoes - Zara

I wore my new peplum top and printed pants for Fashion's Night Out in New York City last night.  I was shocked that I didn't see more fashionistas in these bad boys...let me explain...My little sister is off to college this year (so proud of her!) so we decided to do some back to school clothes shopping for her.  Our first stop was H&M.  Of course, I couldn't help but pick up a few things for myself and off her and I went into the fitting room...she grabbed the same pants in red and I, the printed version.  We each came out to get the other's approval and we gave each other the okay and I said 'you know, I shouldn't be shopping!'  Imagine my dumbfounded expression when my sister excitedly screamed 'they're only $12.95!'  What!?!?!?  The amount of money I spend on work pants (usually from Banana) and jeans (which range from Gap/Zara to JBrand/Seven/DL1961) is astronomical compared to this!  I still can't believe it...I ran out of there before they discovered that $12.95 is just way too good of a deal.
